The final result and future prospects
The Collaboration with NOIZEZZ
NOIZEZZ protects people from hearing damage while allowing them to fully enjoy sound. With their diverse range of hearing protection, including unique "specials," the concept of the festival-proof EarBeanz was born during a car ride in 2022 with Mark (CEO) and Noa (marketer) from Dijk. The need for sustainable, affordable festival earplugs was identified, and DaklaPack became the missing link for the packaging.
Mark and Noa are happy to share more about the dynamic collaboration between the two companies. Speed, open communication, creativity, and sustainability are the driving forces behind this partnership.
Getting Off to a Flying Start
As an addition to their hearing protection range, NOIZEZZ introduced special reusable festival earplugs. With their own laboratory in Hoofddorp, they can quickly respond to new ideas for the production of earplugs. It didn’t take long for the EarBeanz to be produced: small batches of leftover silicone earplugs with a perfect fit, designed to allow users to fully enjoy the sound at festivals and concerts without the risk of hearing damage.
The festival earplugs, each with unique color combinations, are made from leftover silicone from NOIZEZZ's regular production. The different colors visible in the earplugs not only showcase circularity but also give them a cheerful appearance.
Selling these beautiful earplugs without appropriate packaging is like a party without music. Inspired by a previously used grip bag at a NOIZEZZ partner, the collaboration with DaklaPack began. The shared goal was to complete the experience by creating packaging that not only enhances brand recognition but also aligns with their sustainability beliefs.
"Selling earplugs without the right packaging is like a party without music."
Sealed packaging with a functional grip closure
With an upcoming event on the horizon, DaklaPack and NOIZEZZ were looking for a quick solution. DaklaPack provided the answer with their standard grip bags. However, it soon became clear that this was not a permanent packaging solution, especially since the leftover silicone earplugs were difficult to remove from the grip bags. Additionally, there are strict regulations and certifications regarding earplugs that must be included on the packaging. For the temporary packaging, the required information was provided via a sticker. The ultimate goal, however, was to integrate the necessary information in a stylish and sustainable way into the final packaging.
The Final Result and Future Prospects
The final packaging is fully recyclable, made of monomaterial PE, with attention to every detail, including color selection. EarBeanz chose light pastel colors for maximum circularity. The bags feature a convenient grip closure at the top, sealed but reusable. DaklaPack supplies the bags with an open side, allowing for efficient filling and sealing. DaklaPack’s thoughtful approach has sped up the filling and sealing process, reducing costs for NOIZEZZ.
While the final result is impressive, there is still room for improvement. Mark shares enthusiastically, "We are always open to creative ideas that can expand our business model in a sustainable way, such as with another packaging option." He envisions a future where EarBeanz packaging, like the earplugs themselves, is produced in the Netherlands. DaklaPack shares this vision but acknowledges the challenge of increased production costs. For now, it remains a future goal, but where there is music, both EarBeanz and DaklaPack see great opportunities.
